Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed in Los Angeles, California on November 18th 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed an early aptitude for sports when she was attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Her sprinting talent at that moment. Within a short time after her first race, Felix finished 2nd in the 200-meter race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school signing a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas prior to matriculating in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix received her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s, setting the new world junior record. She was the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix competed in her first Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo consistently placing within the top three in all her competitions.
